Punt, Pass, Kick & SuperShots (St. Peter Recreation Dept.) - In this event our Jaycees volunteer by keeping score for each individual child, retrieve the footballs and do the scoring for each event. This event is held by the St. Peter Recreation Department each fall.

Fun Runs (St. Peter Recreation Dept) – Volunteer support along the way and at the registration tables.  Various “runs” are held throughout the year, including Halloween and WinterFest.

Special Olympics Bowling Tournament - In this event our Jaycees volunteers team up with Special Olympics bowlers (what a blast). Other volunteers assist with serving pizza at the awards ceremony.

St. Peter Habitat for Humanity Chapter – ongoing financial support.

Kids’ Vote (St. Peter School District) - The St. Peter Jaycees assist to coordinate two voting locations (St. Peter Community Center and St. Peter Armory). While their parents are voting, children are given the opportunity to cast their “vote” as well.  Each child gets a ballot which shows pictures and descriptions of the candidates.  Volunteers are there to assist with questions and ballot voting. Each child then gets an “I Voted” sticker to be proud of their accomplishment.

All Night Prom and Graduation (St. Peter High School) – ongoing financial support

Cultural Camp (St. Peter Recreation Dept) – ongoing financial support

Susan G. Komen 3-Day Cancer Walk – We are proud to be supporting one of our chapter members, as she prepares for the 3-day challenge! You go girl!

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – on-going financial support.

WinterFest and St. Patrick’s Day parades - Our Chapter enjoys building a float for the WinterFest Parade which usually advertises our local events that we sponsor such as our “Last Chance Ice Fishing Contest”. We have participated in the St. Patrick’s Day parade as well, to advertise the Sandbox Fill and Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter Egg Hunt – Held at Minnesota Square Park – The Jaycees make a race of it! Short of the official “shotgun start”, this race to the candy is virtually over in minutes. This local event is quite popular and has large attendance, even when the temperature hovers around freezing.  We mark off 5 areas for different age groups.  Age-appropriate snacks and treats are provided to the participants. The Easter Bunny occasionally makes an appearance as well.

Sandbox Fill – Missing the beach and longing to grip some sand with your toes!  St. Peter Jaycees can help!  Once a year our group gets all the supplies that you could possibly need for your sandbox! With the help of local businesses and many “wheelbarrow pushers”,  we are able to provide this service to you for a minimal charge with free delivery!

Nicollet County Fair Beer Sales – This is our BIGGEST fundraiser and the activity our chapter looks forward to all year!  The beer sales helps us give back to our community and allows us to provide donations to organizations that assist in our local area such as, St. Peter Habitat for Humanity Chapter, Cultural Camp, All Night Prom & Graduation Party(St. Peter High School), Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, March of Dimes and the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament just to name a few!  We do encourage people to be safe as well, by not drinking and driving therefore we provide the “designated driver” with a non-alcoholic beverage that is absolutely free!

Adopt a Park – Twice a year the Jaycees get together to clean up the trash around the Jefferson Ball Fields (our adopted park).

4th of July Face Painting – In trying to be artistic and provide a fun and inexpensive activity for the children in our community, face painting on the 4th of July at the Minnesota Square Park is a new endeavor for the Jaycees.  We are very excited to be doing another activity in where we are able to be out in our community making new friends and have fun at the same time! Come and get decorated and show some pride for your country!

Last Chance Ice Fishing Contest – Another fun event for the Jaycees, besides who in Minnesota doesn’t like to fish! Lots of prizes to be had, this event is for all ages!  Held at Westwood Marina in late February, this is certainly one of the “last chances” to ice fish before spring!  Local sponsors and businesses make this event possible each year!
